Last weekend, up in Maine, we were experimenting with my brother's flash attachment on my camera. This one seemed to come out okay, albeit a little shiny. As I get into my 8th month of DSLR ownership, I feel like I'm only just beginning to understand how difficult a beast light is to tame.

Another experiment with the flash attachment from last weekend. I think we were pointing it at the ceiling in this one. I like the overall lighting better, but notice that my eyes are partially shaded, as the light bounces back from above. Do I really need to think about this stuff every time I want to use a flash? ...every time I take a picture? (...whine...) Yes, this is me: a point-and-shoot photographer with a dangerously advanced camera, slowly and steadily - and hestitantly - learning what it can do.
