Oh yeah, it was bright today for the first time in I don't know how long. We can't complain much in San Diego, but when it's sunny like this, it's time to go out and play.

Today I finally got plane tickets for my annual family vacation in Maine. $700 or so, for two people, round-trip. Could be worse. Ahhh, in some ways I'm already there.

A view toward the city of San Diego from Mount Soledad. The mountains in the distance are in Mexico. The bay in the foreground is called Mission Bay; the water closer to the city is called San Diego Bay. The Coronado Bridge crosses San Diego Bay to a peninsula that extends north into the J-shaped bay. Okay, the geography's a bit difficult to explain.
Go to http://maps.google.com and type San Diego, CA into the box, then click on Satellite. You'll see what I mean.

Nothing quite like the blues in Hanauma Bay on the southeast corner of O'ahu. Some of the best snorkeling in the world.

Sometimes I just sit thinking how nice it is up in Maine.
